Tallowa Dam Recreation Area Rejuvenation 2012
The Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) provides recreational facilities near streams and water bodies it manages. These have been, traditionally, provided with basic amenities. Increased used has resulted in land degradation, management and safety concerns.
The Tallowa Dam is located about 10 kms downstream from Kangaroo Valley in the Highlands south-west of Sydney. Car and bus parking, canoe access to the lake and picnic facilities have been provided. Management of use is difficult in this isolated location.
The SCA engaged Tony Charters and Associates (TCA) to develop a land and management Master Plan for the site. Gall Architects are part of the team, with a role in landscape and facilities design. Gall architects also produced graphics for commuication of the project to the Client group and the community (but we can't show you the Graphics here).
